As I keep saying, time is just flying by with each week that we welcome a new artist. For week 6 of our 7 weeks, we have Fred Bell in the cubicle. He works in oils and has produced many portraits both of himself and of others that convey a playfulness and a sense of movement even in his most serious of subjects. His application of paint to surface creates more of an impression of a person and their emotion at the time of painting.
Fred also presents his work and others that he admires on his blog and he demonstrates his technique on YouTube.
Be sure to check them out! He was also featured in ArtMail Milwaukee not too long ago which you can view, here.
Fred studied painting with Henry Hensche at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, Massachusetts. He is represented by Portrait Society Gallery in Milwaukee and by the Charles Baltivik Gallery in Provincetown.
Stay tuned for more goodies this week!
